Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Knack Kids collects, why, how long we keep it, and the rights every parent and guardian has over their family's data.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
1. Who we are
Knack Kids is a child talent discovery company based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, operating the Young Achievers app. For data protection questions, contact info@knackkids.org.
Registered entity: Knack Kids Edu Ventures Private Limited, CIN U85499TG2023PTC176420, Plot 42, Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad 500034, Telangana, India.
2. Children's data and parental consent
Accounts are created and controlled only by a parent or legal guardian. Children do not hold standalone logins and are never the target of our marketing.
We obtain verifiable parental consent before processing a child's personal data, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). We do not carry out behavioural advertising, tracking or profiling of children.
Consent is verified by OTP on the parent's Indian mobile number together with an on-record guardianship declaration, and is renewed every 24 months.
3. What we collect
Parent account data: name, email, mobile number, city and authentication data.
Child talent data added by the parent: first name or nickname, age or age band, activities, practice records, competition results, certificates and portfolio evidence.
Verifier data: institution name, verifier contact and confirmation records.
Technical data: device, browser, IP address and app usage events needed for security and reliability.
4. Why we use it
To create and maintain the Talent Passport, to route verification requests, to share records only where a parent has chosen to share, to match opted-in children with scholarships or sponsored opportunities, to provide support, and to keep the service secure.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share family data with advertisers.
5. Data minimisation and retention
We collect only what a talent record needs. We recommend nicknames rather than full names for children where possible.
Active accounts are retained while the account exists. Accounts dormant for 24 months are flagged, notified and archived. On deletion, records are removed from live systems within 7 days and purged from encrypted backups within 30 days.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Staff access is role-based, least-privilege and logged. Verifier institutions are checked before activation.
Data is hosted in Indian data centres (Mumbai region) with daily encrypted backups. Security incidents are triaged within 24 hours, and we notify affected parents and the Data Protection Board within 72 hours of confirming a personal data breach.
7. Sharing and disclosure
Records are shared only when a parent creates a read-only, time-limited, revocable share, or where required by law.
Processors we rely on act on our instructions under contract: cloud hosting and storage, transactional email and SMS, error monitoring, privacy-preserving product analytics, and payment processing.
8. Your rights
Parents may access, correct, export or delete their family's data, withdraw consent, or lodge a grievance by writing to info@knackkids.org from the registered email address.
Grievance Officer: Sowmya Reddy, Knack Kids Edu Ventures Private Limited, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad 500034. Email info@knackkids.org. We acknowledge within 2 working days and resolve within 30 days.
